Magic upon Magic: We're ready
I immediately take back going in the Hermes cabin: They are thieves and it is super crowded. No one opened the door, so I walked myself in. I saw a blur. I spun around. Nothing. People were just talking and stealing. I search for the right person to bring along, while bumping into people. I am not a good stealth. Another blur. It comes towards me as I almost have a major heart attack at that very moment. "Hi." He says to me. "Why are you here?" "No," I say to the polecat. "You can't bite him. I'm here to find someone to help me on my quest." I say as I tilt my head slightly upwards. He holds out a hand, saying, "Jackson, Jackson Huhges." I take the hand. Yuck. Very sweaty. I let go. I consider him for a couple of moments. He is tall and skinny, tanned skin with brown hair flecked with blonde, like that Aphrodite kid. "I guess you can tag along... Go pack." I say, and he is off like a blur again. I stumble out of the cabin, looking for my polecat. I keep on saying that. I want to name it something, but I don't know what. I glance at my shoulder. It is empty.
I rush back to the cabin, looking for the polecat. Finally, I see it towards Jackson. "Get away from him!" I command her. She scurries up my shoulder again. "Sorry," I apologize to him. He gives me a flirting smile. "No prob." And he walks, nah, more like struts away. I raise an eyebrow at him and he looks at me as if to say What? And walks away. I roll my eyes at him and leave the cabin and go check on the Athena kid. As I walk up to the cabin, there is a sign that says, Lo'Reena is not allowed in this cabin. I smirk. "Slip under the door and get a girl with brunette hair." I order to my polecat. She chitters to say yes and slips under. If I'm not allowed, my polecat is because it just says Lo'Reena. A scream emerges. "I bet this was Hermes again." A girl walks out, saying, "OKAY! WE GET THE POINT! STOP PLAYING PRANKS ON US!" She yells towards the cabin. A head pops out, saying, "WE DIDN'T DO ANY PRANKS TODAY FOR YOU!" He yells. "VERY FUNNY!" The girl yells. "YOU JUST SENT A POLECAT INTO THE CABIN!" The Hermes kid looks confused, and then notices me as I plead him. "YEAH RIGHT!" He shouts at her. The polecat emerges from the door, followed but the brunette girl. "Uh, why did you send a polecat to get...? Oh. So, what do you need me for?" She asks. "First of all, what's your name?" I ask her. "Elaina, Elaina Truths. And don't make fun." I smile at her, shouting over the argument, saying, "Well, we have a new quest member: Jackson. And we're leaving in about 5 minutes or so." I inform her, and she emerges with a backpack. "Done!" I race over to Hermes's cabin, calling for Jackson."Done!" He says, and adds, "Who is she?" I turn to her, then Jackson. "Elaina." He nods, and we go to the Big House.

The Art and Aspirations of a Commenter
I believe in the power of a free exchange of ideas. I also recognize that words or access to
some information can be of harm to others, intentionally or unintentionally. As a
commenter, I therefore aspire to participate responsibly in the great online conversation
by:
* treating all bloggers with respect.
* seeking first to understand what is being said.
* celebrating another's accomplishments.
* using school appropriate language.
* rephrasing ideas in the blog that made me think, made me feel, or helped me learn
to let the blogger know his/her voice has been heard.
* commenting specifically and positively, without criticism. If I disagree, I will
comment appropriately, politely stating my perspective.
* being mindful always that I may be a role model to my audience, especially if they
are younger than I.
* making no reference to, link to, and/or giving access to any information that may
be inappropriate for a school setting.
* asking at least one question in my comment with the hopes of continuing a
conversation and deepening thinking.
* using a triple check before submitting any comment: Would I be happy to have my
mother read this comment? My grandmother? My favorite teacher?
