Haris Burdick- The Third Floor Bedroom

I crept into the dark, lonely room. Why did it have to be on the third floor? Do you know how hard it is to climb three stories when you don't have real hands? I went in, and saw the evil little brat, also known as Grant Burdick, sleeping soundly in his warm bed. I reached out to once and for all destroy him, but I heard a noise behind me. I turned around to see those pesky little birds coming to life. I had no choice but to leave. I was in such a hurry that I left his window open. It's too late now, I thought as I practically ran for my life (for the 48th time, thank you very much.) I looked back, even though I told myself not to, and saw one singe bird chasing after me. I hurried away as fast as I could, with that bird right behind me. Then I heard a noise. Grant had woken up. Boy, was I glad! The bird came rushing back into his bedroom, so that Grant wouldn't know anything that had happened, but by the time he got there, Grant had already noticed the empty spot where that stupid bird should be.
I saw Grant get out of bed and look out the window that I had mistakenly left open. I quickly ducked behind the tree and watched as he walked back to bed, and still not shut the window! I was relieved, yet terrified. All of the birds came pouring out the window. Not knowing what to do, I scrambled up the tree. I could see everything. Grant's house was like a tower that stood over the flat, deserted field. He had everything, and I was simply just there as a shadow, literally. I got a knot in my stomach as I saw that Grant was still awake. He could have seen us! The birds must have also realized that too because they rushed back to his window, but only one of his "protector pigeons" made it in on time. All of the birds were gone now. It was my chance to escape. I was so pleased at the thought, my foot slipped and I started tumbling down the tree.
     "Ouch!"
