Once Upon a Time

Cyn

Cyn hurried to the castle. Royal guards stood out front. They bowed and parted, letting Cyn Pass along. Soon, the cool air of the castle replaced the hot air outside. She entered into the throne room, which was empty except for scurrying maids dusting the bright royal carpet and perfecting the chandelier. They all gave a sturdy bow when they saw her.
"Welcome, welcome, Cynthia, it's just about time," Cindy, Cyns trusty and rather motherly maid rushed to her, "Cynthia Tremaine, you know it is inappropriate and unmannerly to return at this t-oh! Your dress, it's got thorns all over it!"
"It must have been the rosebushes, or something," Cyn tried to lie, "I'm really sorry, Cindy."
"Well, next time, look where you're going and maybe you won't fall into a rosebush! I mean, look here, Cynthia, your royal coronation is coming! You should learn by now, how to be a proper lady, and that includes keeping your appearance rather pleasant!"
Cyn apologized again.
"Cyn!" Cyn's mother called as she entered the throne room.
"M-mother!" Cyn said, startled.
Cyn's mother pulled her to a tight embrace. "You took far too long to get back from lunch! Oh, I was so worried-where were you, exactly."
"Oh, u-um, well, I payed a visit to Papa and Momma pig, just to say hi, you know." Cyn said.
"All the silly things you get into, Cyn. You look horrible, go take a shower. You look embarrassing, act more like a lady." Her mother hurried to her office to complete some work.
"Cindy, please feed Sugar, okay?" Cyn handed over her pet. Cindy nodded, trying to get Sugar to stay nice and still..
Cyn walked to her room and took off her green hood, letting her  strands escape.
She looked at herself in the mirror. Blue eyes like her father. Flowing blonde curls like her mother. She had obtained her mother's pretty skin-a light cream color with a pretty bit of tan sprinkled here and there over her face. And just like her mother, she was said to be the most beautiful girl of the good side, because she was indeed perfect. Her face was not too skinny nor chubby; her body wasn't fat, nor skinny; her eyes were perfect, her mouth was perfect, everything was perfect.
But appearance didn't matter, because Cyn wasn't at all like a normal princess.
She thought about Crimson, realizing that it was dangerous to run away with the evil side's princess. What if she was lying? Cyn didn't feel like she was lying, but she realized that this could be a trap the evil queen had set.
But the war between the sides was over, ending in a draw. At the end of that war was when the wall formed, forever separating the two kingdoms.
And forever separating her and the world.
