The Girl at Hogwarts, Part 8
"I'm going to go to sleep."
Raven nodded. I lay my head on the snow (ha, my name is Snow...) and immediately fell asleep.
"SNOW, BLOODY HELL WAKE UP! YOU'RE GONNA CRASH!" Raven yelled.
I bolted up and steered the thestral to the right. I gave a sigh of relief. "Thanks, Raven." I said gratefully. Raven gave a sharp nod, and then dived straight down. I did the same. The thestral's hooves crashed against the stone with a deafening sound. I immediately jumped off. I looked at the thestral's hooves. They were slightly cracked, but the thestral didn't seem to mind. I wrapped some cloth around it and walked to the gigantic Durmstrang doors. Raven rapped on the wood. The doors swung open and an awfully familiar person opened the doors. "SCORPIUS?!"
Scorpius grinned. "You don't really think I left Hogwarts permanently? I couldn't possibly miss the Triwizard tournament. Come'n in. Where's the rest of the school?" We shrugged, but walked in. As cold as it was outside, inside was colder. Scorpius sat us down at a table. He bent down and whispered, "Horrid food, there is. Like acid! And they have waiters. Can you believe it? It's ri-"
"Vut are voo valking vavout?" A distinctly Bulgarian accent sharply asks us a question.
Scorpius snaps back, "A mudblood question! We-- we... we were.... were- What was I saying?"
I looked at the person speaking. I would have lost my train of thought, too. There was no doubt about it- the person speaking was beautiful. Her hair was long, straight black hair that fully covered one of her eyes. She had quite narrow eyes, but they looked knowledgeable, and shone bright, incredibly, beautifully bright green, with long dark eyelashes. Her skin was light, probably from the harsh cold of winter.
"I vet, vut are ve valking vavout?" She repeated.
"The Durmstrang food....... it's delicious!," Scorpius chortled. "What's your name?"
"Vy do vyoo tare?," She asked. Then sighed, "Anna Krum."
"Krum?"
She turned a deep shade of scarlet. It looked like blood on snow. "Vad vees Viktor Krum."
While Scorpius was stuttering himself to death, I noticed something.
"Why are you wearing armor?" I asked.
It was true. She had a white winged helmet that covered the back of her head and the top of her forehead, a set of pure-white armor that had a black Durmstrang Phoenix, and white leg armor. Her white wand was connected with an empty white sword hilt.
"Vy van a Durmstrang vard. Vader of v' vards, acvually."
"Uh, so you're the leader of the guards? Cool cheese."
"Vut ees this, 'vool veese'?"
Scorpius pushed me out of the way. "Care to show me a few tricks?" The girl blinked uncertainly, then smiled. "Of course, sir." She lifted up the wand-sword thingy.
"Vlacarius!" A bright blue sword blade appeared on the wand-sword. She slashed it on a chair.
"Vat vood be all, zank voo." She said, strutting off to another table.
Scorpius immediately put down his fork.
"VAN I HAVE ZEE AVENTION? ZEE TRIWIZARD TOURNAMENT VOO ZART, VERY SOON! PREPARE ZEE PAPERS!"
Score quickly pulled out a gold leaf and jotted down Scorpius Malfoy.
Then he covered his paper and wrote something else. He stuck something on the back.
I took mine and wrote Snow Chang. Scorpius swiped my paper and said, "I'll put it in for you,"
Then he turned around and threw it into the fire.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I put a spoonful of some decent-tasting soup Scorpius hated in my mouth, staring at the goblet. The fire flickered white every few minutes, and you could see the faces of the people who put the names in. I finished the soup.
Spencer was sitting in front of me, doing the same thing as I was. He brushed back his golden hair.
"Hm." He said every few minutes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"AND NOW WE DRAW ZEE NAMES!"
He held his hand into the air. "FOR DURMSTRANG! ANNA KRUM!"
The pack of people following her cheered.
"FOR ZEE BEAUTY SCHOOL!"
"Beuxbatons!" Someone shouted.
"Lorien Crawdaunt!"
He was average looking, not pretty.
"AND FOR ZEE WARTHOG!"
"HOGWARTS!" Somebody yelled.
"Spencer Pen!"
"Arian." Spencer grumbled.
He walked up, slightly sashaying, and took the paper.
He walked behind a door.
Scorpius grumbled quietly, about 'Undeserved stupidity', 'Evil little...' and other things.
I just ate my last bit of delicious pudding and slipped the hood of my robe onto my head, and quietly walked out of the door. I was swinging my leg over the thestral's back when I heard a voice.
"Leaving already?" It was Raven. He swung his wand around with a purple light that illuminated the whole field. Despite Raven not being the best-looking, he did have a knack to look stylish. He had hair that was naturally a dark, eerie teal, and a spell-caused streak of silver through it. His eyebrows suggested that he was fine with it, and he was slightly snickering, hand over mouth. Raven's silver gloves and shirt meant he adored Slytherin, and his scarf... well, it was cold. Despite this, I mostly looked at his shockingly green eyes. They were neon, almost yellow, and didn't show the slightest hint of what he was currently thinking. For a second I thought he would stop me, but he simply put up his wand and waved. "Wait... is this for the quest?" He simply smiled.
"I'll get the others, then, Lady Snow." He said it with a Prof. Devon voice.
That was exactly when I fell in love with Raven.
