"Who.... what did you have with Red?"
Blue looked into my eyes. "Just a rivalry.... or more than that........ he beat me in a Pokemon battle.... and I got out of control. He just... left. Agh, what do I care? Probably in Senta by now."
"Senta?"
"Region after Kalos. Red.... well, y'know Charizard, right?"
"Mmm... yeah."
"Well... I used to have a Blastoise, in fact. He had Charizard. Red... well, Red always had a special connection with every Pokemon he saw. He was a moony-eyed idiot for every Pokemon, while I was completely self-obsessed."
I compared the Blue I knew and the 11-year-old Blue. One was dressed more stylishly and looked confident and hot, while the other was casual and much less confident, while still hot. He still had kept the amulet.
"What's the amulet from?"
"Am--- oh, this. It's...... well, when me and.... Red.... were little, we were best friends. He gave me this. Sort of like a best friend's charm. Well, I broke away. I got conceited. But... I still kept the necklace, really." He hesitated.
"And...?"
"And, well..... Red... he left because of me. Because of me, I made him not like Pokemon as much. Because of me.... he's never returning to Kanto." Blue looked wistful as he stared at the sky.
I thought about this. "Red.... I can convince him, I bet."
Blue looked up. "How? Like you can just fly to Kalos on short notice."
"I think I can." I said with a wicked grin.
~~~~~~~
"Are you absoulutely sure this is going to work?" Blue looked unconvinced as I told my plan, "I don't think they can handle the power."
I laughed a little nervously. "Trust me. We can fly to Johto on Charizard. Then, kabam, surf to Hoenn on some Pokemon we catch in Johto, then from Hoenn we'll dive to Sinnoh, catch some Tropius or something, then we can bike to Unova, and Kalos is so close we can run, or walk."
"Hmm. Charizard, buddy. Can you handle two people?"
Charizard looked at Blue. 'CHAAAAAAAAAARIZARD!'
Blue stared at Charizard for a few moments. "Charizardite X? You can't just stroll along and find one!"
I opened my bag. "Mega stone? Do they look like multicolored marbles? With black striped diamond-things?"
Blue looked at my bag. "Yeah, sorta. Why?"
"I collected those! I thought they were just cool rocks when I was little."
"Really? Eh, you probably only have dozens of Pinsirite and Lucarionite." He shrugged.
I stared into my bag. "Does the X thing have a crystal-ish look, glow intensely in blue and black, look like there's fire in the middle, and the insignia glow silver?"
Blue sighed. "That's exactly what it looks like. But they're super rare. Why bother?"
Charizard shot up at the speed of light and in second we were in Hoenn.
"What happened to Johto?" I asked, outraged.
"Charizard can handle going to Hoenn!"
"Excuse me, but I.... whoa." We were at a huge building lined with super sharp black and yellow and purple roses. The path shined like gold in the afternoon sun, and tall, Starf berry trees lined the path. In awe, I turned to Blue.
"Who exactly is this.... Steven?"
Blue smiled in appreciation. "Oh, Steven? He's just the League Champion of Hoenn."
