Man, Mega Houndoom was fast. I was flying through the air, off of the saddle. I forced myself to get onto the saddle. The wind whipped viciously at my face, coaxing me to start flying through the air again. I realized a rock was in front of us, but Houndoom merely put his head down and shattered the rock into a billion pieces, a chunk hitting Blue's Charizard, following me. From shock, it transformed into normal Charizard, and Blue panicked, trying to swat the button on his bracelet. Charizard mega-evolved in midair, but they were far behind us.
Then Houndoom crashed into sand.
~~~~~~
"Silver, what is your problem? Seriously, trying to help you, and you throw a chunk of rock at us."
I was worried about other matters. "Where are we?"
*Sigh...* "We're at the Battle Frontier, genius."
"Battle Frontier! Ohmiarceus! There's so much to do here! Man, I'm so excited! Hmm, where should we go first? Get an autograph at the Battle Pi--" Blue's stomach roared.
"Food." Blue moaned.
I opened the Battle Frontier: A Tour handbook. (Hey, it had been my dream to come here)
"Well, there's Battle Palace Pancakes, Battle Factory Fried Things, Battle Pyramid Popcorn, Battle Dome Drumsticks, Battle Arena Apple Pie, Battle Pike Pizza."
"Uh... Pizza, Drumsticks, Apple Pie, Popcorn, Pancakes, Fried things."
"Everything?"
"Everything."
~~~~~
What felt like seconds later, Blue was eating his fourth slice of Apple pie, finishing off a bucket of popcorn, finished a stack of ten pancakes, eaten eight slices of pizza, fifteen drumsticks, and still was hungry.
"HOW DO YOU EAT SO MUCH WITHOUT EXPLODING?" I asked a still-skinny Blue who was eating a fifth slice of pie.
"Why are girls obsessed with getting powerful trainers as boyfriends?"
"Powerful trainers?"
"Hmm, I don't know... Steven and Lance? Oh yeah, 'Hottest champion of all?' Ring a bell?"
I blushed fiercely. "Steven, I bet doesn't have the slightest idea that anybody thinks he's... uh, really hot. Lance is just so.... awesome. I mean, he's super hot, he's cool, he's a dragon trainer, a champion, kind to Pokemon, a little weird, like me, and he gave me a Houndoom."
Blue raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?" He looked out of the window of Battle Arena Apple Pie.
"So... where were you heading, anyway?" He asked, trying and failing to act like this was a casual question of absoulutely no importance.
"Me? Oh... I dunno... thought maybe I could talk to Red. He's in Sinnoh, apparently."
Blue snorted. "Try getting him to say a word. He's the quietest person on Earth. And he's not in Sinnoh. He's in New Johto."
"New Johto?"
Blue thought about it. "It's pretty close to exactly like normal Johto. It's just slightly bigger, more colorful and lively, and, well, the Pokemon... well, they're the same."
~~~
Note-- Johto's videogame counterpart is Gold, Silver, and Crystal, while New Johto's videogame counterpart is Heartgold and Soulsilver. One actually just has better graphics. Just saying, because Blue's a terrible explainer.
~~~~
"Interesting. So, how far is New Johto?" I asked, eating a small bite of pie.
Blue chomped his billionth chicken wing. "By Mega? Uh, Charizard X... five seconds. Mega Houndoom... three seconds. So, we going?" He threw the rest of the chicken into his mouth.
I stared at Blue. "This is the BATTLE FRONTIER! We need to battle."
Blue felt for his Pokeball and slipped it from its hinges. "Well... fine. Pike Queen first, though. I hear she's hot."
I glared. "Who's saying hot now?"
He turned scarlet and opened the door. "You coming?"
I sighed. "Fine."
Her building looked like a giant Seviper. As we were about to walk in--
"Stop."
Blue looked startled. "Excuse me?"
"Choose your event." He handed Blue an electronic pad. Blue scrolled and searched for a few minutes, then tapped 'Event Pokemon'.
"What was that about?"
"Oh, you see Seviper, Milotic, and Shuckle as you go to her room."
"Cool!"
Blue looked uneasy. "Not cool. Their levels are super high. Though you are free to catch them."
I brightened massively. "Seviper? Milotic?" I reached into my bag and felt all of my Pokeballs.
"Oh, this is going to be fun."
The first Pokemon we saw was a beautiful Milotic. But something was different about it... its color was sky blue and gold instead of hot pink and royal blue. It was emitting stars.
Blue grabbed his only Master Ball. "Never in my life... its a shiny."
"Shiny?"
"1 in 8765 Pokemon are shinies! I've never even seen one before! Whoa. That was pretty epic. "Sorry, bud. It's mine. Angel, Dragon Pulse!"
Blue started yelling. "Hey, whoa! Whoa! Milotic is weak to dragons!"
"Eh, what--- Angel?"
Angel was glowing white. "Omigosh, what-- evolution?"
Blue nodded. "Yep. I just adore Dragonair."
The white silhouette of Angel elongated, the blue pearls on his tail got larger. He grew a tiny unicorn horn. The wings on his head got larger. Then the white faded, and Dragonair was where Angel once was.
Blue sighed in frustration. "Great! Now it's a billion times stronger! How are you gonna weaken the Milotic now?"
"I'm not." I pointed to the whimpering Milotic that was on the floor, pulsing purple light.
"Dragon's Curse. Deadly on water types. Only cause by dragon moves. Oh, shit-ake mushrooms!"
I glanced at Blue. "You separated the words."
He sighed. "Sorry, sorry. Geez. Just catch the damn thing."
I threw a Great Ball. It clicked after shaking three times.
"YOU CAUGHT A SHINY MILOTIC WITH A GREAT BALL?! HOW IS THAT FRICKIN' POSSIBLE?"
"...Blue?" I hear a heroic-toned voice.
Blue and I look towards the voice. I instantly recognize him.
Blue stares.
A dark-brown haired boy with a red baseball cap, red Letterman jacket, white Pokeball shirt, blue jeans, and red high tops. He has startlingly spring-green eyes and his hat is tipped so low you think of half an emerald. A heroic-tinged smile is directed towards Blue. I have yet another crush.
Blue stares for a few moments. "Red?"
