The Knight of Exorcism: Chapter 3

Lily:
I'm making Sting her best friend.
You may say 'But guys, Rogue is Sting's BFFL!' Wrong. They're so close, they're basically brothers. So, they're basically brothers. That's my point.
Also: The Rogue-Brooklyn ship will be as real as possible.
~-~-~
"HOLY SH!T, WHERE AM I?!"
I sighed. "That was most definitely Rin. CALM DOWN, OKUMURA! WE'RE IN MY TOWN, MY WORLD!"
Suguro turned dark red. "I was busy memorizing. Okumura won't miss a beat, he's useless anyway! I have studying time to become an Aria! Okumura just wants to be a useless Knight!"
I held my sword's tip on Suguro's neck. "Are Knights useless? I wasn't aware. We spend time protecting you Aria while you mutter completely stupid words!"
Suguro stood up and got in my face. "What was that? Y'know, there's a reason you're protecting us. 'Cause nobody cares if we lose a knight!"
"This is my world, dude. BACK OFF."
Suguro groaned. "What-EVER."
~-~-~
"Well, look who's back! Brooklyn, you've been gone a while!" I see a familiar spiky blonde head.
I laugh. "Three weeks. Hey, Sting! Waitasec... where's Rogue?"
Sting darkened. "He went out on a quest, said it was solitary. He forbid me from going."
I grabbed Sting's arm and pulled him to the next room. "Seriously? You're gonna listen to him? You guys are close as hell, just follow him."
"He'll say I betrayed him, dude!"
"Well, then, I'll go."
"What? No! He'll blame it on me."
"Then you come."
"Wh-..." Sting looked at the ground. "Fine. If Cheney gets mad, you're full blame."
"Sure, OK."
The exorcists were looking around the Sabertooth guild, exception; Yukio.
He sat in a chair looking nervous.
"Yuki! Come with us, we're getting Rogue."
He looked confused. "Must I?"
I nodded. "Yes. Rin, Ryuji, Shiemi, you come, too!"
They looked at each other nervously and finally nodded.
~-~-~
"So, where did he say he was going?" I asked Sting.
"Some place, the Black Hell Cavern."
I froze. "Black Hell Cavern? Uh, let's turn around."
"What? No!" Rin said. "We're way too far to quit."
I sighed. "You guys. Seriously?" I pulled out my sword. "Thy shall not enter thee kingdom of blackness, keeper of the Dragon King, held trapped and condemned inside thy prison is thee Black Dragon of Apocalypse, he who dwells in evil paths, Acnologia. Scripture 16 of Devil Guide."
Sting moaned. "Oh, that's here? God, we're no chance against that brute." He walked further towards the cave.
"Then why are you walking that way?"
"Because Rogue walked into that cave on an SSS-Class mission, defeating Acnologia. Like I'd leave that dude behind."
"Good enough. Rin, Yukio, take Sting's back, arms at ready. Suguro, Shiemi, you cover my back. Suguro, have your best scriptures ready at the point of tongue. Shiemi, have Nee out full power. This isn't any ordinary monster we're dealing with." I take a breath and step into the cave. "Oh thy great Zeref, your magic wills my sword great power. I show this blade to your brother, Thy Dragon King in hope of defeating him. Grant me the darkest magic, the strongest death!" My sword turned pitch black.
The exorcists stared at my sword. "Well? Guys, go in!" I ran after Sting.
~-~-~
Sting was still, completely frozen. A tremendously horrified look dwelled in his eyes.
I looked where he was looking. I froze, also. "Oh god. I'm so sorry, Sting."
The exorcists came in a little later. "Who's that?" Rin asked.
My eyes were still locked on Rogue laying on the ground. His coat was torn off and his shirt was scratched up and soaked with blood.
Sting ran over and skidded onto his knees. "Rogue, bud, wake up! Don't go off and die!"
Rogue slowly forced his eyes open. "Eucliffe... Frosch... where's Frosch?"
Sting looked surprised. "What? Frosch came with you? And you didn't let me go?"
"Frosch didn't come with me... but he did follow me... I know it..." Rogue's eyes drooped.
"Hey! You won't dare take Lector's path, idiot!"
"Lector's alive, Sting..."
"So? He disappeared for a while! Too long! And you definitely aren't disappearing this time! Hang in there!" He tore open Rogue's coat and stared, horrified, at the wound. It was complete flesh. Not an inch of skin could be seen.
Sting's eyes turned glassy.
Rogue lightly smiled. "Sting? Leave me here... tell them I died trying to kill him..."
"Nope. Not happening." Sting gritted his teeth. "Dude. You think I'm literally gonna leave you here? Never." He tore of pieces from his vest and stripped them around Rogue's wound.
Yukio leaned over to me. "This Sting guy... does he have... magic?"
"Yes. Great magic. He's beaten me multiple times. I train with him."
Yukio looked surprised. "How come he isn't using it to heal the other guy?"
"That isn't how magic works. Each person specializes in their own magic. Sting has White Dragon Slayer Magic. Rogue has Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic. I have Apocalypse Dragon Slayer Magic."
"But what about the fire? And the gold light?"
"Oh, that's just my sword. Pretty handy, huh? But if I lose my sword, I only have my Dragon Magic."
"But your sword doesn't have healing magic?"
I shook my head. "Only offensive magic, unfortunately."
"Who's Lector, and who's Frosch?"
"Lector is Sting's cat, and Frosch is Rogue's cat."
I ran over to Rogue and used my jacket to mop up blood.
Sting had a rage-look in his eyes. "...Sting?"
"Acnologia... will pay... for... this..." Eucliffe choked out.
I nodded. "I won't stop you."
"Thanks... Brooklyn."
Suddenly, my heart stopped as I realized something. "Rogue isn't breathing."
Sting yelled. "ROGUE! STAY ALIVE! IF YOU DIE, I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU!" Sting's hands slammed on Rogue's stomach. His head collapsed on Rogue, soaking the bandages with tears.
Wet teardrops poured down Sting's face. "...don't die... if you die... half of my family will be gone... don't disappear like Lector did... nobody'll be left..."
Rogue's eyes turned faded maroon, no longer the bright blood-red the were.
"You aren't dead... Rogue... isn't dead..."
He had no pulse.
A few minutes passed, and Sting started to glow white. He stood up.
His pupil's had disappeared, leaving his eyes a bright, hollow white.
His fists were clenched. "Acnologia... I'll kill you."
