The Kangaroo Club; Chapter 3
It was a week after, after the next meeting, and Kaylin arrived so she could tell Himilaya something. "Himilaya, I was sort of wondering if I could be the treasurer," Kaylin pressed. "You can keep an eye on Velvet. I've been noticing that she's been acting strange," Unis offered. Davielle nodded seriously. "I noticed something too. At the first meeting, Velvet said something about taking over the club," Rane told them. The others gasped. Someone from the club council was turning against them? They couldn't believe it. "I think we ALL better keep an eye on Velvet," Himilaya countered," but Kaylin is is all of Velvet's classes. I think we should have agent stuff so she can contact us about whats going on. We need to get a better understanding of the situation before we plan what we're going to do." "Deal!" the other girls said in an agent tone. The girls agreed that they needed a recorder to record what Velvet was saying, a talking device so that Kaylin could say what Velvet's doing, and himajigs that get around with video cameras build into them so that they knew where she went to plan and so that they could hear AND see what she was planning and how she planned to do it. They were ready for action with these equipment. "And lets note that since Velvet is the treasurer, she can see what we're planning for activities and fundraisers, so she can mess them up. Plus, she has the power for people to listen to her, since she's on the council. We need to be careful, because as long as she's around, this club is in danger," Kaylin said in her usual agent-like voice. The girls nodded their heads and went out of the meeting room so they could get a good night's rest before Operation Velvet Spying started. And was going to start in the morning.

The Art and Aspirations of a Commenter
I believe in the power of a free exchange of ideas. I also recognize that words or access to
some information can be of harm to others, intentionally or unintentionally. As a
commenter, I therefore aspire to participate responsibly in the great online conversation
by:
* treating all bloggers with respect.
* seeking first to understand what is being said.
* celebrating another's accomplishments.
* using school appropriate language.
* rephrasing ideas in the blog that made me think, made me feel, or helped me learn
to let the blogger know his/her voice has been heard.
* commenting specifically and positively, without criticism. If I disagree, I will
comment appropriately, politely stating my perspective.
* being mindful always that I may be a role model to my audience, especially if they
are younger than I.
* making no reference to, link to, and/or giving access to any information that may
be inappropriate for a school setting.
* asking at least one question in my comment with the hopes of continuing a
conversation and deepening thinking.
* using a triple check before submitting any comment: Would I be happy to have my
mother read this comment? My grandmother? My favorite teacher?
Velvet seems like a villian! Can't wait to read what happens next...
