Doug stood in the execution room motionless. He couldn't believe what he had just seen. He had just watched his best friend die. Jason's body lay lifeless on the floor as the medics tried to roll his body on a stretcher. Doug watched as they wheeled off Jason's corpse. Doug was so involved in the moment he hardly noticed the officers and Chief Buzzard arriving.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU RAN AWAY FROM THE LAW AGAIN!!!" Buzzard exclaimed. "You are coming with me RIGHT NOW Ferguson!" yelled Buzzard. Doug followed Buzzard out of the room groggily. The officers surrounded Doug as they led him off to his cell. Buzzard was up front rambling on about justice as Doug straitened up.
"Jason wouldn't want me to mourn over his death, he would want me to win the fight!" Doug thought. "Where are you taking me?" Doug asked Chief Buzzard.
" To the maximum protection cell," Buzzard said. Doug knew what that was. It was guarded by officers 24/7 and had the most strong bars. Once they reached the cell, Buzzard through him in and closed the door tight.
Buzzard's last words to Doug before he left was this, "Mark my words Doug, you won't live past Punishment Day."

The Art and Aspirations of a Commenter

are younger than I.
* making no reference to, link to, and/or giving access to any information that may
be inappropriate for a school setting.
* asking at least one question in my comment with the hopes of continuing a
conversation and deepening thinking.
* using a triple check before submitting any comment: Would I be happy to have my
mother read this comment? My grandmother? My favorite teacher?
