Pokemon Champion Chapter 2: Strange Trainers
"A+! Use Tackle!"
A+ hurled itself towards the wild Patrat. The Patrat stumbled backwards for a few minutes, shook it's head and fainted.
"Wow, A+! You're already at level 15!" Aril said, handing A+ a berry. A+ gobbled it down in one bite. Aril sucked A+ into the Pokeball and kept walking along the path. Aril stopped in her tracks to find a young boy staring into the trees. Aril walked beside him.
"Are you...okay? You aren't moving...or blinking. Young man, where's your parents?"
Silence.
Aril shrugged and walked down the path - but she nearly had a heart attack when she walked infront of the boy and saw him take out a Pokeball and scream, "I LIKE RUNNING IN THE GRASS!" and sending out his level 3 Weedle. Aril, grasping her chest for air, sent out A+ and fell over. A+ sighed at the small Weedle with such a small level. A+ facepalmed and tackled it - it's health went down so fast it didn't have time to think. Aril got back up and started breathing slower, but gasping at A+ as she started to glow.
"A+, you just learned Thunderbolt!" Aril screamed. The trainer frowned.
"Fine, I'll send out my next Pokemon! Be warned, this one's really strong!" The Trainer sighed, sending out a Metapod. Aril had to bite her tongue to stop herself from laughing, although A+ was already rolling around on the floor laughing until she turned blue. The Trainer turned his hat around with a grumpy face on him.
"Okay, enough playing around! Metapod, use Harden!" The trainer yelled, trying to avoid Aril laughing too. Metapod glowed, then it returned to normal. A+ sat there, waiting for something to happen as she calmed down from laughing so hard. After minutes of waiting, A+ got up, grunted, and used Thunderbolt. The Metapod's health went down and it fainted. The Trainer sighed.
"Alright...you leave me no choice but to send out my strongest Pokemon..." The trainer sighed as he sent out a Magikarp. Aril, unable to hold it any longer, burst out laughing and fell over. The trainer rolled his eyes and frowned.
"Magikarp, use Splash!" the trainer yelled. Magikarp sat there, nothing to do - because Magikarp is a fish, and Magikarp was in grass. The Magikarp wiggled around though, and only managed to throw dirt everywhere, but it still just sat there. A+ got bored eventually and tackled the Magikarp, and it fainted. The trainer held his mouth open wide.
"I guess running in the grass isn't that fun anymore..." The trainer said before turning back into the moveless, staring-in-the-woods form.
"That boy is strange...." Aril whispered to A+, walking away while A+ nodded in agreement. Aril started walking away happily, until she groaned at the sudden line of strange boys, staring into the woods.
"I guess I have to fight all these guys if I want to get to Professer Juniper's lab...." Aril sighed.

"Whew! That sure was...uh...interesting..." Aril emphasized, looking back into the long line of boys. A+ stood with her small hands on her knees, gasping for air. Aril sat down and pushed a berry into A+'s sight, and as expected, A+ smiled wide and gobbled it down whole and with that she regained her strength and kept walking.
Aril walked along the path, and at the end she found sunlight shining through the leaves. Hearing a familiar voice, she ran faster.
"Hey, Gavin! How are you doing?" Aril yelled, still running towards her friend. Gavin turned around. He narrowed his eyes at first, but seeing his friend he smiled.
"Hey Aril! I'm doing fine, but guess what!" Gavin excitedly asked her, shaking her hand. Aril rubbed her chin and pouted her lips.
"Hmmm....you beat a gym leader?" Aril guessed.
"Nope."
"You leveled up Minus?"
"Yes, but that isn't the surprise."
"You found a master ball in the grass?"
"Nope."
"Did Minus evolve?"
"Minus doesn't have an evolution."
"........"
"Give up?"
"Yes..." Aril sighed.
Gavin pulled out a Pokeball from his bag, winked at Aril, and thrust the Pokeball to the ground. Aril knew what Pokemon that was immeadietly - a small, plump, green dinosaur with a pink bud on it's back.
The PokeDex rang again, and Aril pulled it out of her pocket.
"Bulbasaur - the grass type Pokemon. A strange seed was planted on its back at birth. The plant sprouts and grows with this Pokémon." The PokeDex said.
"Wow! You caught a Bulbasaur? I heard those are REALLY rare!" Aril gasped.
Gavin laughed, and picked the Bulbasaur up in his arms.
"He's cool, right? I can't wait until he evolves." Gavin exclaimed, petting Bulbasaur's head.
"What will you name him?" Aril asked, slowly reaching her hand out to pet Bulbasaur. It saw Aril's hand and grinned, and narrowed it's eyes.
"GAAAAH! IT BIT ME! GET IT OFF, GET IT OOFFFF!!!" Aril screeched, swinging the Bulbasaur around with it hanging on her hand. The Bulbasaur laughed, and swinged off, landing on it's all four legs. Then, it's bud opened up for a split-second and vines shot out everywhere and wrapped Aril like sushi. Trying to escape, Aril tripped and fell over. A+ jumped out of the way to avoid being squished.
A+ gave the Bulbasaur an annoyed stare, and with that, it's vines ripped off it's bud and it slowly walked behind Gavin.
"Uh.... HELLO?! I'M STILL TRAPPED IN THESE VINES!" Aril grunted. Gavin nudged the Bulbasaur and looked at it dissapointingly, and the Bulbasaur sighed and ripped the vines off of Aril. Aril wiped her hands on her jeans, and pet A+.
"So sorry, Aril. I just caught him today and he's feeling ignorant right now." Gavin apologized. Just then, a Pokeball shot out of Gavin's bag, and in midair Minus came out. Minus looked at Bulbasaur and was about to slap it, but then it noticed A+. Minus smoothed it's imaginary hair, and swooned towards A+. It started talking, and A+'s eyes widened. It giggled, and before then, they were both talking constantly and blushing.
Aril and Gavin both stood there, amazed at how fast Minus and A+ started communicating.
"Uhhhh..." Gavin and Aril both said. Aril quickly coughed, but they both were talking nonstop. Gavin snapped his fingers. Nothing happened. Aril grabbed A+ by the legs and pulled as hard as possible, but A+ had hearts in her eyes now and wasn't responding. Finally, A+ let go of Minus' paws and started crying.
"Ugh.. A+! It's okay, you can talk to Minus later! Please stop crying!" April hesitantly said, trying to cradle A+ in her arms. A+ wiped her small, black beady eyes and sniffed. Then, without warning, it burst out in rage and electrocuted Aril. While Aril was burnt and on the floor twitching, A+ jumped out of Aril's grasp and tried to grab Minus' arms - however, Gavin was literally having to squeeze Minus in his arms to avoid him from escaping. A+'s face changed from a worried expression to an outraged frown.
Aril sat up and wiped her eyes from the ash, and seeing A+ about to burst out in rage she grabbed her and stuffed her into the Pokeball. The ball shook viciously for a few seconds, but then it stopped moving and it was silent. Gavin apparently did the same, because when Aril looked up Minus was gone.
"...well....at least she didn't burn us to ashes...." Aril panted. Gavin nodded fast and stood up, and so did Aril.
Bulbasaur was in the bushes laughing his butt off, rolling around and hitting the floor with his small hands. Gavin shot around to look at Bulbasaur. He picked up Bulbasaur and pet him, but the instant he did it bit him on the wrist.
"GAAAAH!....You know what, I think i'll call it Chomper..." Gavin announced.
