The Princess of Maldonia Chapter 2

    "Ellie," I shout. Ellie is my cousin, well my father's cousin and my second cousin, but you know... Anyway, her name is Elanor, but i call her Ellie. "What are you doing here!?"
    "Well I came to visit you," she says, "Well and your father, mother, and Alleranda."
    Alleranda is my little sister, my parents gave her my great-great-great-great granmother's name. Alleranda and I think it is the wierdest name ever. That is why everyone in their right mind calls her Allie.
    I love my little sister even though sometimes she can be the most annoying person I know. However, on her behalf she is only 4.
    Allie isn't here right now, she's at Rainbow Puffs Camp for the weekend,"
    "Oh. How are you holding up with that, Adelline," she says even though she knows I prefer to be called Addie.
    I clear my throat to say, "It's Addie, and I'm fine."
    "Adelline Justice Trenton! I can't beleive you would say that to your cousin!" my mother shouts at me at the top of her lungs even though I was right in front of her.
    "Okay I'm sorry, I just prefer it when peeple call me Addie, and as my mother you should know that," I say starting to cry.
    Suddenly the front door opens and my sister walks in with her babysitter,"I'm back!!"

The Art and Aspirations of a Commenter
I believe in the power of a free exchange of ideas. I also recognize that words or access to
some information can be of harm to others, intentionally or unintentionally. As a
commenter, I therefore aspire to participate responsibly in the great online conversation
 by:
* treating all bloggers with respect.
* seeking first to understand what is being said.
* celebrating another's accomplishments.
* using school appropriate language.
* rephrasing ideas in the blog that made me think, made me feel, or helped me learn
to let the blogger know his/her voice has been heard.
* commenting specifically and positively, without criticism. If I disagree, I will
comment appropriately, politely stating my perspective.
* being mindful always that I may be a role model to my audience, especially if they
are younger than I.
* making no reference to, link to, and/or giving access to any information that may
 be inappropriate for a school setting.
* asking at least one question in my comment with the hopes of continuing a
conversation and deepening thinking.
* using a triple check before submitting any comment: Would I be happy to have my
mother read this comment? My grandmother? My favorite teacher?
