Adventures in Minecraft, Part 5: Set me to ... The End?

Carl sat up in bed completely awake. He jumped out of bed silently and grabbed all of Steve's diamond armor. He winced, knowing  he shouldn't steal, but honestly, did he have a choice? He put it on and grabbed Steve's shiny emergencies only diamond sword and bow. He put them in his hot bar and ran out of the house at top speed. He stared at a horse Steve had in his pasture. Carl stared for five minutes. Then he hopped on the horse (after putting on the saddle, of course) and rode off. He was just turning around the corner of a mountain when he saw a glimmering black figure. It was tall, and its eyes were blood-red. It was an enderman, but different from the rest. It seemed vicious. Blood-thirsty even. Carl made the mistake of staring it between the eyes. It roared and tore after Carl at top speed. Carl stared for two seconds and tore off fast as possible. He stood on his horse and aimed his (technically Steve's) bow at the enderman. He aimed and shot. It dissapeared. Carl was entirely relieved. He turned to start his way back to the Nether Portal and he screamed to the ends of the earth. "Oh, jeez." Carl ran. But it was no use. The enderman shot after and hit him. Hard. Carl fell to the ground, eyes wide. His eyes were glassy. He sat up and the enderman was gone. He looked at his arm. Nothing there. He looked at his other arm. Nothing there. He looked at his right leg. Nothing. He looked at his left... It had a cut and was bleeding. It was singed with purple at the edges and had stopped the bleed, but he was helpless. He couldn't walk. Couldn't yell for help. Couldn't even attract a monster. He was done for. Then, something amazing happened. A silver bottle appeared next to him. He grabbed it, thirsty as a fish in a desert. He glugged down the bottle. His wounds instantly healed. But he couldn't go back to Steve. He was stuck. No journal. No allies. Just a sword, armor and a injured horse.
