The Four Elements: Joined
Blake felt uneasy. The boat ride to Canteronda was making him seasick. Another unfortunate event was that Blake, or " Blaze" as everyone called him onboard, was unable to control his force. It was also particularly dangerous because his force was Fire. That meant that any minute now, Blake could set the whole boat on fire. But to protect the event from happening, a smith had created special gloves immune to fire to prevent Blake from burning down the place. That also would help Blake during practice to learn to control his force. As the boat rocked back and forth, Blake was at practice. His trainer, Leonora, was helping him get trained. For a woman, she was good. She had lightning quick reflexes, fast moves, and fast defenses. Blake admired her like that. She wasn't that ordinary type of woman who would go slow and be kind to you and offer you cookies kind, she was the hard working, pushing and no nonsense look that the moment you look at her, it was down to business. Leonora set up some targets. She had explained that in this room, the force from Blake couldn't escape. It was specially designed for Blake. Blake carefully removed his gloves and formed his hands into a ball to make a fireball. Leonora said also that Blake was immune to fire. The heat pressed against Blake as he carefully aimed for the bull's eye. He fired. It put a hole through the target. Then suddenly, he heard a BUMP! " We have arrived at Cantoronda!" someone yelled. Blake looked out the window. Other ships rocked around the beach. Blake guessed that those were the ships that also held the other three Elements. Leonora explained that this was the island where the Elements were going to be joined together to be the Four Elements. Blake slowly walked off the boat. He saw three other people about his age do the same. He followed his trainer to a big facility with the others. Once everyone had settled in, the four trainers started to explain what to do. Blake put up his right hand. Everyone else did the same. " You shall join hands to officially form the Four Elements. You shall not separate and you shall be forever united." Blake and the others slowly started to join hands. Finally, they touched. A bright glow shot through the center of the united hands. Then the symbol of all the Four Elements came from their possessor and slowly joined together. Blake felt excited. The legendary Four Elements had come and reunited.

The Art and Aspirations of a Commenter
I believe in the power of a free exchange of ideas. I also recognize that words or access to
some information can be of harm to others, intentionally or unintentionally. As a
commenter, I therefore aspire to participate responsibly in the great online conversation
by:
* treating all bloggers with respect.
* seeking first to understand what is being said.
* celebrating another's accomplishments.
* using school appropriate language.
* rephrasing ideas in the blog that made me think, made me feel, or helped me learn
to let the blogger know his/her voice has been heard.
* commenting specifically and positively, without criticism. If I disagree, I will
comment appropriately, politely stating my perspective.
* being mindful always that I may be a role model to my audience, especially if they
are younger than I.
* making no reference to, link to, and/or giving access to any information that may
be inappropriate for a school setting.
* asking at least one question in my comment with the hopes of continuing a
conversation and deepening thinking.
* using a triple check before submitting any comment: Would I be happy to have my
mother read this comment? My grandmother? My favorite teacher?
Okay, now I am starting to see how this story is coming together a bit better!
