THe Four Elements: Lord Cormandes
" Welcome, welcome!" Lord Cormandes announced. Ursula marveled the sight around her. Everything was colorful. Bright blue flowers. Red rugs. Yellow coins. Everything was SO colorful! Ursula understood why this was a happy place. Oliver smiled knowingly to her as she smiled. " Make yourself at home!" Lord Cormandes' said. He showed Ursula and Ariel their room that they shared. " Ah... Finally! A warm, plush, comfortable bed!" Ariel said happily. " You said it!" Ursula replied with a warm smile. It felt so good! Nights before: Sleeping under rocks, sleeping on the ground, ( Which didn't feel that bad for Ursula.) sleeping in abandoned barns. Not a very good bed for Ursula. " Now we're on island time!" Ariel said, making a cool breeze for them. Ursula relaxed. It felt good to be able to sleep on a cozy bed and have no dangers. Yup! This was paradise. " Ding-a-ling! Dinnertime!" someone called. The girls got up. Music was playing in the background. Ursula went to the banquet room. Several guests were already there, including Blake and Jay. Ursula heard footsteps. Lord Cormandes walked in, formal-looking with his electric blue eyes that were resembling a snotty look. " Let thy eat!" he pronounced. A cheer aroused and everyone dug in. Ursula was sitting near Lord Cormandes. He asked many questions about her. She informed back. " So, thy need the Flame, the Wind, the Earth, and the Stream to help defeat thy Never named ones. Thy also said the Flame, according to thy Oliver, is right here in the gardens of thy castle, guarded by a ram. Indeed it is, thy Ursula. But thy can not have the Flame. It is thee most precious of thy land. Ursula nodded, but inside her head, gears were turning, thinking of a plan to get the Flame to defeat the Lord Cormandes droned on as Ursula thought. Suddenly, he sharply said, " Is thee listening?" Ursula nodded quickly. How would they find the Flame without letting Lord Cormandes finding them? He's nice if you know the right side of him. Oliver's somewhat, "exact" words pounded in her head. How would they find the Flame?

The Art and Aspirations of a Commenter
I believe in the power of a free exchange of ideas. I also recognize that words or access to
some information can be of harm to others, intentionally or unintentionally. As a
commenter, I therefore aspire to participate responsibly in the great online conversation
by:
* treating all bloggers with respect.
* seeking first to understand what is being said.
* celebrating another's accomplishments.
* using school appropriate language.
* rephrasing ideas in the blog that made me think, made me feel, or helped me learn
to let the blogger know his/her voice has been heard.
* commenting specifically and positively, without criticism. If I disagree, I will
comment appropriately, politely stating my perspective.
* being mindful always that I may be a role model to my audience, especially if they
are younger than I.
* making no reference to, link to, and/or giving access to any information that may
be inappropriate for a school setting.
* asking at least one question in my comment with the hopes of continuing a
conversation and deepening thinking.
* using a triple check before submitting any comment: Would I be happy to have my
mother read this comment? My grandmother? My favorite teacher?
