The Kane Chronicles Continued

"Fine, Avery, you win!" I tossed the cards onto the table. We were playing some card game Avery had taught me. He was laughing really hard. Lord, he was gorgeous. And he looked exactly like grandma described Anubis- windblown black hair, eyes like chocolate, fair skin, and a glossy leather jacket.
I looked like my grandma when she was little- golden blonde, sapphire, sky-blue eyes, an Arizona tan (because I live in Arizona) and athletic features. I had even dyed my bangs green like she had dyed hers when she was my age. Oh yeah, my name's Celeste, I'm fourteen. We're done.
You should have beat him, Set, my host, said in my head. You're probably like 'Whaaat?! But didn't Sadie Kane defeat Set? Isn't he the super-bad guy?'. He's not super-bad, he's super ANNOYING.
My fantastic card skills are legendary. You should have asked me for help.
Very funny, Set.
Yes, I am very funny. How am I related to you again, not-funny one?
Don't know, don't care. All that matters is that I can turn into the Set animal.
Thanks to me! Yes, I am amazing.
You're an idiot, shut up. The weird thing was, he always listened to me. When I said 'Shut up', he shut up. When I said go away, my brain flushed and felt calm and he didn't come back for a week.
Oh yeah, the Set animal. It was a weird feeling when I turned into it. I felt no feeling at all and a little piece of my mind was screaming 'Destroy!'. You would feel hot and cold and scorching all at once. I felt like I could do anything, and sometimes I would think I was a moose. (Don't even ask.)
Anyway, I was going to Orion's Meteor Shower with Avery and my other friend, Skylar. I wanted to show them something I could do.
"Ok, tell me again why we're going to this meteor shower?" Skylar asked.
"I want to show you something."
"At a meteor shower." Avery said in a disbelieving tone.
"Yup. Oh, here we are. Pull up." Avery was sixteen, so he could drive. He pulled up onto the grass and we all filed out of the car. We found a nice bench to sit in, and it was weird, because both Skylar and Avery looked at me, waiting for me to do something.
I stood up and put my hands up in the direction of the sky. A meteor passed by and I clenched one hand into a fist and put the other under the fist. I walked over to them
"Uh, what just happened?" asked Skylar.
Avery watched my fist. I slowly opened it... there was a blazing white fire emitting stars.
Skylar smiled. "I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! I knew you were a diviner! When I saw you talking to that timber wolf-"
"That was pretty cool." said Avery seriously.
"I thought maybe, but if you can control star energy... you're a chief diviner! I knew it! Take that, Anubis!... uh... Avery!" She said to Avery.
"Waitasec. You're saying... I'm a diviner? And Anubis... you're Anubis?"
"Um... yeah. Do you hate me now?"
"No! You're a billion times cooler! Wait, whaddya mean, 'I knew it'?"
Skylar looked confused. "I thought you already knew by now... I'm Nut, of course."
She started changing. Her long black braid turned into very long black hair that floated around her, and there were star pins and real stars orbiting in it. Her silver headband turned into a tall crown shaped like a crescent and she had earth-shattering star-gold eyes instead of green ones. She had a long, dark blue cloak like a fog with meteors darting around and a white toga.
"You're Nut." I repeated in disbelief.
"Yes, Nut, capital N, not nut, like a squirrel." She looked to me in sheer pride. "And a diviner is related to me! Yet another one."
"Uh, sorry, no."
"Yes, you really are related to me! No need to be humble."
"Actually, I'm descended from Set." I murmured. Nut's jaw dropped.
Avery/Anubis yelled, "WHAT?! Set? From Set? My father?!" Ok, Avery/Anubis was now Anubis.
"It can't be." Breathed Nut.
"But it is. Set!"
Yes? Are you in dire need of my card skills?
No, you idiot. Come out of my head and show yourself.
I can only show my spiritual form.
Then do that!
There was no response. Then I felt an explosion in my head and Set's spirit stood before me.
"Ah, air! How good it feels. After all these years... now, to destroy the earth!"
"Hey, hey, whoa, whoa. Slow down, dude. You're only in your spirit form."
"Oh yeah. Damned Apophis, Serpentine God of Chaos! Show yourself and bring my true form back to me!" A Serpentine wisp rose from the ground and soared through Set. He seemed to harden and form a true body. Slowly, ever so slowly, his eyes turned to fire and he clenched his fists.
"Now. I shall bring destruction. Apophis, Serpent! Your true form, I demand! Together we shall bring the Storm of Chaos!" His voice tripled and he dissapeared into the ground.
"Oh my Isis, this is bad." I whispered.
"And all thanks to you!" Roared Nut.
"Hey, cool down, Nut. Remember what... Sadie ... did? She defeated Set and Apophis."
"But together? Oh, Anubis! You are still to young to realize! She had help! Much help, from many accomplished magicians! And she barely defeated a isolated Apophis! What happen then, Anubis? When Celeste has but none help, left alone to defeat Apophis and Set's power combined?"
"But she'll have help by then!"
"From who, if you're so sure?"
"Leon and Chase."
~~~~~~
Leon and Chase happened to be two sons of grandma's brother, Carter and his wife, Zia.
They were handsome and looked nothing alike. Chase was like Zia, with golden eyes, short, cropped black hair, fair skin, and a quiet nature, while Leon was like Carter, dark, mocha skin, handsome brown eyes, curly black hair, and a very annoying nature. But neither of them were evil, which was an extremely good thing, because they were both incredibly powerful. Chase was a diviner and the favored one of Nut. He used defensive magic like barriers, walls, trap spells, and transportation enchantments. Leon was an animal speaker and was Ra's host. He used lion armies as an attack and had a little bit of magic, like fire spells. We talked over hot chocolate.
Chase sipped his quietly. "So. Set and Apophis." He whispered, then stopping to sip.
"YES! Set and Apophis! My chance to prove myself to mother as you already have, Chase! With dad dead... it's not really been the same."
Anubis slammed down his coffee. (He didn't like hot chocolate.) "Carter is dead?" He drank his coffee.
I took a very long drink of chocolate. (it was good. Could Zia enchant chocolate or something?)
"I think I have an idea."
