It's a Life.: Chapter 1

Let's explain what's happening here. I don't really have much time. Whatever. My name is Arian-- Arian Lightbeam. What's happening right here is me trying if I have Arena Skills. Arena Skills.... hmm... let me see..... they're like special kids that come to an Arena to compete. If you compete and win, the top fifty are grouped into five groups. There is one legendary, and seeing as how I'm the main protagonist, it'll probably be me. Oh yeah, you get one companion, and you can choose ANYTHING , as long as it has to do with your skills. (The people with best skills are in the top fifty.) And when I say anything.... I mean, ANYTHING. It has to be living, yes, but if your main skills are speed and attack, you could choose LINK, from Legends of Zelda, as your SIDEKICK. Then they dump the teams into a Hunger Games-like Arena, except it's about 50 times bigger, and the last team standing wins. Yeah. People DIE. And right now, it's time to demonstrate my skills.
~~~~~~~~
"Arian Lightbeam! Come up and demonstrate your skills." The High Elder, basically the Super-powered Principal, called.
I walk up to the stage, fingers coated in a thick layer of sweat. The High Elder sighs. He probably had to go through hundreds of people before me. "What do you think you specialize in?"
What had he just said? How would I know? "Um.... strategy and weaponry?.... sir?"
"Was that a question or a statement?"
"Statement, sir."
"Demonstrate." He hands me a bow. Wait, I can't do archery. I'm terrible at it. But I reluctantly take the bow. I don't want to embarrass myself in front of all eight hundred people who are watching me.
"I can already tell, from the look on your face, you cannot do archery?"
"No sir." He takes the bow and hands me a sword. This is what I'm talking about!
I feel it in my hand.
Then I grin. "This is perfect, sir." He pushes a button and stone figures with huge wicked swords pop up. They weren't alive, but they could probably stab me to death. They zoom towards me at top speeds, and I jump onto the first and stab the sword straight into its head and pull out, grabbing the figure in front of the one's helmet horns. I kick the one I stabbed to the ground and slice off the one I'm on's head. I take the sword and swing it straight over the third's head, slicing it in two. There's just two more..... I ride on the first's shoulders and cut its head clean off, then I launch myself off and put my sword in front of me, stabbing it through the last's body. I cut it in half and then I bow.
The High Elder looked at his stopwatch. "Twenty seconds. You killed five Stonens."
I wipe the sweat off my forehead. "Those were Stonens?"
"Yes, young one. It took you twenty seconds to kill the highest of stone guards. I believe... you are our new legendary. And the fiftieth. EVERYONE ELSE MAY NOW LEAVE!"
I heard a long groan and everyone else left.
He put his hand on my shoulder.
"You grant high speed, attack, and strategy. What companion would you like? You may choose three."
"THREE? OMIGOSH!"
"You are the legendary. Choose one category."
"Pokemon!" I say automatically.
"Which ones?"
"UM... Arceus, Latios, and Raikou." (Author's note: They're on the top, in the same order.)
"You are the legendary, you choose teams."
"Of course, sir."
~~~
They take me into a styling room first, and they straighten my black hair, and then... they give it three highlights. One white, one blue, one yellow. To represent my companions. They put black jeans, a white shirt, and a purple leather jacket on me, again to represent my companions. Then they give me my companions. They're just plain amazing. The Arceus as cool as I thought it would be, the Latios as awesome, and the Raikou as majestic.
The stylist smiles. "This is Legend, Jets, and Saber. All male. Now, you go judge!"
I ride Saber there and sit in the judge's seat, petting Saber. Legends flies over the stage, while Jets is outside, flying around.
In the end the other nine on my team were

  • Cress Dynamo, who was good at long-range combat, and was a Zelda. He had Epona the horse.
  • Bella Dynamo, who was my new crush. She was an incredibly pretty Pokemon trainer, and she has an Absol.
  • Alek Zane, scary, and scary fast. He destroys while running at top speeds. His companion is Sonic the Hedgehog, respectively.
  • Terra Goldheart, who was good with just brawn, and had a Veemon from Digimon, which looks like a blue mutated rat. (ick.)
  • Oceanus Silversoul, who was good with just smarts, and had a Renomon, which was a Digimon also, and looked like a pretty yellow fox.
  • XZ. I don't know much about her, but she has telepathy, and an Espeon.
  • Nine Tene, good with math and calculations and strategy. He has an Enderman.
  • L'matra. Dangerously pretty, can enchant guys into killing themselves. Has Ender Dragon.
  • Kale Flint, good at setting up things and nature. Has Leafeon.
Then after teams were set, they dumped us into the Arena.

  1. Why do people like Pokemon!? It's not even real anime! Go watch Hetalia or Ouran
    High School Host club.

    1. I hate you. Pokemon has been around for a long time, if you didn't know. (And yes, it is real anime. Why do you think people refer to the TV series as 'the anime'?)

      (PS, Pokemon is anime, those three are actually manga, which are more for teens.)

    2. Oh yeah, also, I was talking about the GAME, genius. Not the TV ANIME. I don't even watch the anime that much!
      ------The Dark Mark, aggravated, ticked off.

    3. (All of those are horrible, by the way, except for Hetalia. Hetalia rocks! Except for America and Italy. Don't ask what I have against Italy.
